December: Christmas Production and Parties
The festive season bought us the annual event of the Preschool christimas production, this year the plan was to make it more of a traditional theme and we made use of our local community!

Weydon Lane held their Nativity Play at St Peters Church in Wrecclesham and it was attended by the deputy mayor of Farnham, Paddy Blagden. Monkton Lane nursery held their Nativity Play at St John The Evanaglest Chursch, Hale.
The Nativity Plays were a great succsess with lots of parents and grandparents coming to watch the little stars. All children throughout the nursery enjoyed a Christmas party with fun and games followed by a visit with Father Christmas and a special gift for all.

December: Charity Work
Throughout the month of December we collected for two causes, The Farnham Foodbank and toys for children in a local womans refuge, the refuge wrote to us saying that the collections had made a huge difference to the children staying with them over Christmas.

We again supported the Farnham Round Table in their festive santa sleigh rounds collecting money for local charities, much fun was had singing carols and making lots of faces smile on the yung and old alike.

24 November 2012: NMT Nursery Awards 2012

The Nursery Management Today awards celebrated their 10th Anniversary this year, making them the longest established and most popular awards in the nursery sector. The aannual event promotes excellence for all staff working in nurseries. The Awards offer a fantastic opportunity to all those working in childcare to receive the recognition they fully deserve. Already Confident that Tris is by far the best chef in the industry we donned our best dresses and suits and headed to the London Hilton Metropole Hotel, having enjoyed a lovely meal the anxious wait began whist other awards were called. Finally it came to the category we had all been waiting for Nursery Chef of the Year, a short film of the cook off day was played a as we held our breath as they opened the envelope... 'The winner if nursery chef is......... Tristian Strover' followed by much cheering and clapping from us all. Congratulations Tris you are amazing.

16 November 2012: Children In Need

Every year the staff, families and children of Tootsies suppot this worthy charity. This year chidlren and staff paid a pound to came dressed in spots or as a clown. We held cake sales, guess the baby competition and a raffle, both Tootsies nurseries raised a staggering combined total of £385.75. a big thank you to all the parents for their kind donations.

30 October 2012: Zoolab

Both nurseries had a visit from some special creepy crawlies today. Zoolabs classic Halloween workshop where the presenter comes dressed as a friendly wizard and tells the children the story of Meg the witch and Mog the rat.

6 October 2012: Grandparents Day

Children were invited to bring along their Grandparents for a special open morning to say thank you for being such great grandparents. All the grandparents were offered tea and scones served with homemade redberry jam. It was a great way for them to come and visit the nursery and meet each others friends.

3 October 2012: NMT Nursery Chef of the Year Judging Day

Tris took part in the judging day for this industry award which involved a cook off against four other nursery chefs, Tris had one hour to cook a 2 course meal from one of the nursery menus served at the nursery. The results will be revealed at the NMT Awards evening on the 24th Novmber 2012, wish us luck.

29 September 2012: Farnham Food Festival

This was the second year that Tootsies took part in the Farnham food Festival. We offered free samples of the food the children enjoy at nursery all homemade by our brilliant chef Tris. We also donated a child friendly hamper full of homemade goodies to the Mayors fund raiser for his chosen charity this year 'Farnham Foodbank'.

24 September 2012: Harvest Festival

Tootsies Nurseries showed its support to the local charity Farnham Foodbank ths week and collected food which will be donated by the foodbank to local fmailies in need. In total Tootsies collected 49kgs of food.

10 September 2012: Happy Birthday Monkton Lane

Tootsies Monkton Lane celebrated their 3rd Birthday. The Farnham Mayor and Mayoress joined the children for a celebratory lunch of homemade golden potato cottage pie served with roasted seasonal vegetables.

22nd August 2012: Weydon Lane Sports Day

The Tootsies Olympic celebrations were closed with Karen Brown and Deputy manager Charlotte making the journey back across Farnham carrying the 'Tootsies' Olympic torch supported again by local Policeman David Woodrow and PCSO Martin Porter. The torch was presented to the children of Weydon Lane to open their sports day.

Staff Children and parents took part in races on the school field followed by a garden party tea and medals presentation for all the children.

27 July 2012: Monkton Lane Sports Day

The Tootsies Olympic celebrations began with the Olympic torch being seen off by the children of Tootsies Weydon Lane and being carried by nursery director Karen Brown who ran with the 'Tootsies Olympic Torch' supported by Sharon from Morph Fitness, Crondall and our local Policeman David Woodrow and PCSO Martin Porter.

The torch was met at Monkton Lane by the children and Paula Fudge; former women's 3000 metre WORLD RECORD HOLDER and Commonwealth Games GOLD MEDALLIST. Paula also joined in our sports celebrations by handing out medals to the children.

After all the races all children and parents enjoyed a party tea and fun in the garden.

9 July 2012: Twitter was launched

Tootsies joined the twittersphere and began tweeting the daily menu and news in July, You can follow us at @tootsiesnursery.

7 July 2012: Big Congratulations to Kelly

Our Deputy manager at Monkton Lane on her marriage to Martin Gray. The team went along in the evening to help them both celebrate their marriage.

We wish them many years of happiness together.

30 June: Farnham Carnival

The theme for the carnival this year was ' be a sport' Tootsies entered as a rowing team, as always the atmoshphere was amaizing with so many other groups making great efforts with their costumes and floats too. Tootsies were really plesed with thirsd place in our categorie and would like to say a big thankyou to all the children and parents who helped make it a great procession With special thanks to to mrBen maintenance for building the brilliant canoe float for the children to ride in.

9 and 16 June: Fathers Day Saturday Breakfast Club

Fathers were invited to come along on Saturday 9th and 16th June from 9am to 11am for a fathers day breakfast club. There was lots to do including football fun, construction and den building.

Dads were able to enjoy sausages made from scratch by Tris the chef served with homemade baps and tomato sauce. A lovely morning had by all and great to see so many daddys attending.

5 June: Queens Diamond Jubilee

Both nurseries opened to celebrate the queens Diamond Jubilee. The day started with children and staff coming dressed in patriotic colours of red, white and blue. A street party themed lunch was enjoyed with food fit for the queen! A lovely day enjoyed by all.

5 April: Weydon Lane 8th Birthday

Tootsies Weydon Lane celebrated their eighth birthday with the staff and children enjoying lots of fun and games followed by a party tea.

Easter Open Days

Tootsies Nursery is holding an Easter open day for current and prospective parents, come along and enjoy the fun. There will be a visit from the Easter Bunny with treats for the Easter egg hunt and much more. Tris the nursery chef will also be holding a master class to show you how to prepare one of your child's favourite dishes.

All mummys were invited to come to a special celebration teas with their child to celebrate mothers day and to say thank you for being great mummys.
