Father’s Day Breakfast (June)
fathers-day-june-2014Both nurseries joined together to host the Father’s Day Breakfast, lots of children brought their daddies along to enjoy a homemade sausage sandwich and help plant the nursery garden with flowers, herbs and vegetables.

Farnham Carnival (June)
carnival-2014The rain couldn’t keep us away from one of our favourite events of the year, the theme this year was ‘Go Safari’. Luckily this year we opted for umbrellas and children dressed up as cheeky monkeys, we danced our way through the streets of Farnham having lots of fun, the day was a great success.

Hale Carnival (July)

Our very first Hale Carnival and a slightly drier day! We carried our theme on I this parade of Cheeky Monkeys, we had a brilliant time singing and dancing our way to Hale Road and around the festivities. We look forward to taking part again next year.

Farnham Charity Bike Ride (July)
farnham-charity-bike-ride-2014Farnham Charity Bike Ride is an annual event with a great family atmosphere for cyclists of all ages and abilities. A team took on this challenge, completing 25 miles across local country roads, taking in steep hills beautiful views. All monies raised go to local charities and causes.

Sports Day (August)
sports-day-2014Sports Day was held this month, all children were invited to come along and take part in short races, including egg and spoon, crawling and running, as well as parent and staff races.

Farnham in Bloom (July)
farnham-in-bloom-2014The Mayor of Farnham and fellow Farnham in Bloom judge Kevin Taitt visited the nursery to judge our hanging baskets, tomatoes and strawberry plants as a part of the community project to make Farnham a prettier place to be.

Prop Making Day (May)
prop-making-2014Children and parents joined some of the Tootsies team with making props for the carnivals. Children were able to make their favourite animal into a hanging lantern; all had a fun and very sticky time!

Farnham Duck Race (May)
farnham-duck-race-2014Tootsies attended the Farnham Duck Race in support of local charities. We held a stall offering children an opportunity to make play dough and sensory bottles. The day was busy with lots of people visited our stall, we raised just over £65 donated to the Farnham Duck Race.

Parent First Aid Workshop with St John Ambulance (April)
first-aid-2014Another chance to learn essential first aid skills was offered to Tootsies parents and friends with St John Ambulance, the session was a great success with parents leaving feeling confident in dealing with first aid emergency.

Easter Open Morning (April)
Children and families joined us for some Easter fun, including an egg hunt, hook a duck, arts and crafts and face painting, as well as a chance to taste homemade hot cross buns.

Mother's Day open morning
breakfast-2014Weydon Lane Nursery invited children to bring their mummy's along for a special breakfast morning on the 29th March. Children were able to enjoy special activities laid out for all to enjoy. Breakfast was a selection of homemade goodies, blueberry bagels, seeded loaf, raisin and pear bread and sultana pancakes. 

The Big Pick
the-big-pick-2014Groups of staff and children took part in the Farnham Big Pick throughout the week of the 28th March. Special litter pickers were collected from the town office and the children set about collecting litter in and around Gostrey Meadows and the Maltings area. Children talked about the importance of keeping our community tidy so that we can all enjoy it.

World Book Day

On the 6th March children and staff came along to nursery dressed as story book character, the children enjoyed a day themed around stories and traditional tales getting involved in interactive story sessions and fun.

Pancake Breakfast
